At MK-Tek Holsters, we find that there are many people who have a misunderstanding of a good placement for the IWB Holster carry position. The body is an ellipse. Wide at the hip. Not a great place to put an IWB holster for concealed carry. The widest part of the hip and the tightest part of the pants. The proper placement of the holster either worn up front at 12:30 to 2:00 carry postion allows for the flat of the grip to go across the flat of our belly. It also allows us to maximize the natural crease in out hip crease. By keeping the holster in this zone we are able to access the grip cleanly for a smooth and consistent draw. Appendix Carry is a very popular carry position. Just remember to lift the holster and belt-line up about a half inch prior to sitting. The handgun needs to ride below our muffing top when we stand and above our muffin top when we sit.
Behind the hip carry is exactly that, Carried behind the hip. The 3:00 position is where our hip bone is the widest and pants are the tightest. Right behind that area is a natural pocket. Many people find carrying in 3:30 to 4:00 carry position with a 15 degree forward cant on the holster to be a great carry position. When you carry at the 3:00 position the holster is right on the hip bone and the tightest part of the pants. It creates a bump on out hip and the grip prints by going straight back.

Holster Ride Height is an important part of the holster selection process. If you can not get the handgun out of your pants the ride height is too deep. Conversely, if the Holster is digging into your side the ride height may be too high. Not ever handgun is suited for each type of ride height. Some models of holsters we currently only offer one option. If you have specific needs, let us know. Holster setup gives you the chance to adjust for you and all day comfort carry.
Here is a guide to how we determine ride height for IWB Holster. The trigger guard is the guide.
1. The bottom 1/3 area of the trigger guard is considered High Concealment / Ride Height.
2. The top 2/3 area of the trigger guard even with the top of your belt line is considered and Normal Ride Height.
3. The Top of your trigger guard area is considered Deep Concealment or Deep Ride Height.

Carrying a holster up front at Appendix carry, the holster should be setup with Zero forward cant. This allows the user to get a proper purchase on the grip. When the holster is worn behind the hip for IWB Carry the holster should be setup with a 15 degree forward cant. This allows the user to get the proper grip on the handgun while drawing from the holster. it presents the grip at the proper angle so you do not have to bend your wrist at an unusual angle.
Some concealed carry users do not wear a belt. We find that many women do not wear a belt in their everyday life. This really makes it difficult for them to carry a handgun. We have a couple of options to help people carry concealed, while not wearing a belt. One of our clips is a metal clip that is capable of clamping onto fabric up to 1/4 inch thick. Some users will wear a belt over the clip also. This Beltless Clip option leaves the smallest foot print on your pants that hides. You can also tuck your shirt in using the Beltless Clip options. The other Fabric Clip we offer is suitable for larger framed handguns. It is a molded injection blend Clip. very strong and flexible. Either clip allows the user to wear the holster in multiple locations with multiple cant options.
Just as in the name, it does what it says it does. It is a sweat shield to protect the body side of your handgun from body sweat. A full Sweat Shield can always be trimmed and polished. A minimal Sweat shield can not be grown. Most sweat shields also protect any of the firearm controls such as Safety, Slide Release lever and Take down levers or DE-cockers.

Pull-the-Dot™Snap Instructions
We use Mil-Spec, Pull-the-Dot snap fasteners on our soft loops.
These are directional snaps and will only open or close in a certain direction. This feature prevents the snaps from opening when the being worn on the belt, but will allow you to unsnap them easily to remove the holster. These snaps can be very difficult to open and/or close when new and may require a break in period. The following instructions will help you use the snaps and trouble shoot some common issues we’ve found with new snaps.
Pull-the-Dot snaps are directional. They will only snap by hooking the bottom of the female socket on the male snap and rolling up. To un-snap, apply outward pressure on the top edge of the female socket (where the dot is on the cap) and it will release from the male snap. If you can not open the snaps by hand when new, use a flathead screw driver or similar tool and place it between the female socket and male snap at the top of the snap (where the dot is on the cap). Twist the screwdriver and the two halves should separate easily. Once unsnapped, ensure the screw in the male side is tight. Repeat this process until the two can be easily unsnapped by hand. A drop of oil on the male snap can also help. If it is very difficult to close the snap by hand when new, first make sure the
screw in the male snap is tight. Then, look inside the female cap. There is a ring of metal around the inside of the cap. There is a split in this ring. The sharp edges of this split can bind on the male snap and prevent you from closing the snap. Using a flathead screwdriver or similar tool, rotate the split around until it is next to the metal band that holds the ring in the cap. Once the split is in this position, you should be able to close the snap by hand.
• Please use Blue LokTite on all screws to secure them against future loosening.
